Flood Guidance Statement
The Scottish Flood Forecasting Service (SFFS), is a partnership between SEPA and the Met
Office. Each day it prepares and publishes a Flood Guidance Statement (FGS). This provides a
forecast for the following five days, identifying the flood risk to Scotland from surface water
(heavy rain), rivers and the sea. The FGS is sent to all partners each morning and will provide
the first indication that a flood event is expected.
Flood-line is a free service providing live flooding information and advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (0345 988 1188).
